Teachers are the lifeblood of a school, and BRCS has welcomed highly qualified members to its staff. When thinking of teachers at Blue Ridge, the words caring, excellence, servanthood, and longevity come to mind. Teachers at Blue Ridge are chosen for their love for the Lord, their love for children, and their special teaching abilities. BRCS has a teaching staff with a long-term commitment to Christian education. The average teacher at Blue Ridge has served the Lord in the classroom for over ten years. This faithfulness strengthens the programs and develops stability in the school. Faculty members view their positions as a ministry, not just an occupation.

Mr. Rogers has taught at Blue Ridge for over 30 years. He has been at the South Campus
since 1983 as both a teacher and principal. Mr. Rogers received his Missouri State
teaching certificate from Central Missouri State University and also has his ACSI
Certification in Christian School Administration. Gary and his wife Jolayne have three
children; two who have graduated from BRCS and one who will graduate in 2009. Mr.
Rogers’ favorite passage from the Bible is Psalm 37:4-5, “Delight yourself also in the
Lord, and He shall give you the desire of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord,
trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” In 2001, Mr. Rogers received one of
the Crystal Apple Awards from Fox4 News.

Mrs. West has taught at BRCS - South for two years and is currently finishing her degree in Elementary Education at Calvary Bible College.

Miss Schneider has taught at Blue Ridge for twelve years. Brenda grew up in Wisconsin and came to the Kansas City area to attend College. Before graduating from Calvary Bible College with her Elementary teaching degree, Miss Schneider attended North Central Technical College. She has her ACSI teaching certificate. Her favorite verse is Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desire of your heart.”

Mrs. Potter received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Missouri Kansas City. She is certified in the state of Missouri for Reading and the Elementary classroom. She also has her ACSI Certification. Stacy taught for several years in the Kansas City Missouri School District before coming to Blue Ridge 5 years ago. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”.

Mr. Parker has taught in both private and public schools for over 30 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Emporia State University and his Master of Science in Education degree from Central Missouri State University. He is certified in both the state of Missouri and Kansas and has his ACSI certification, as well. Rich has taught school for over 30 years. He taught in the Grandview school district for 28 years, in other private schools for 3 years, and six years at our Blue Ridge campus before coming to the South Campus this past year. He and his wife Beverly have three children, Adam, Emily, and Megan. All three of their children attended and graduated from BRCS. Mr. Parker’s favorite passage from Scripture is Philippians 4:6-8, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things.”

Mrs. Mann has taught Elementary Music at Blue Ridge for two years. She graduated from Calvary Bible College and has her ACSI Certification. Melanie and her husband, Joshua serve at Maywood Community Church where he serves as Youth Pastor.
